Just another day on Rode Trip. After a hearty breakfast Brian kayaked off to the Journey's End Marina to determine whether we can obtain a fuel lift pump for the engine. Alone time...wheee hoo! I cranked up the stereo and danced about while finishing chores. Dishes done, laundry sorted, cleaned and dressed I got ready to kayak myself to shore. Brian returned as I peeked my head out into the cockpit. No luck just yet, the fuel lift pump was not in stock and the marina "might" get back to Brian today about whether it can be ordered from "a guy" in Marblehead, MA. And so we went about our way for the afternoon to catch up on emails, budgeting, and laundry. At the Public Marina there is a lovely building housing the harbormaster and Rockland Yacht Club that offers public bathrooms/showers and laundry services. We sat in the park doing internet things while the laundry ran, enjoying sunshine and people watching.

We took a stroll and ended up at Hamilton Marine, again. Brian and I browsed and brainstormed about boat projects. We did manage to upgrade our dinghy engine!

On our walk back to retrieve the laundry, a carnival-looking trailer pulled into the lot bearing the name "Comedy a'la Cart." We thought this would be entertaining, so we opted for an early dinner back at Rode Trip before coming ashore once again for the 5:30pm show. Brian cooked delicious pork chops with balsamic strawberry glaze with sides of mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. We hopped back into the dinghy and made good use of our new paddles. The comedy show was nothing to rave about, in fact we needed a refreshing beverage to recover. We returned to the Rock City Cafe where we knew to find great service, an internet connection, and delicious beer. Brian's new fave is the Big Wicked IPA and I always enjoy a Peak Nut Brown. The Grandjean siblings caught up on the telephone while we continued to borrow the internet for this very blog after Rock City closed.
